Summary: So now that Anthony has gotten extra days to think over what he wants to decide to do, on that Friday Richard Dana tried to make it so that Anthony could be released from jail up until that Saturday, which was when he had to go back to court. The bad thing about this was that the Commissioner refused to give Anthony this privilege and told him no. There Commissioner did this because he thought that there was no use because Anthony would end up going back with Mr.Suttle back to were he came from. Apparently it wasn't only the Commissioner thought this way it was also Edward Loring who was o Suttle's side of the case. When Anthony went to Court on that Saturday at Faneuil Hall it was over filling with people. There were more than 2,000 people in the audience. Most ready to support Anthony in whatever his decision was.
Quote: "The call to duty and honor had gone out, and Freedom lovers from all over New England had responded" (Hamilton 74).
Reaction: This quote is important to the story because it shows how many people actually cared about what was happening to Anthony. How many people actually thought that Anthony could make a change in the way life was by standing up for what they all believed in, freedom for all.It showed how many people were actually ready to stand up for their rights and what they wanted in life.
