Summary: In these few chapters not only Manuel's father but also his older brother Nardo got a job. Manuel actually helps him in his jobdelivering medicine. One day when Manuel was helping Nardo they had to go to the office to pick up the perscription first. Nardo's boss didn't know Manuel had been helping his brother with work so he didn't go into the store the way Nardo did. When Mr.Giddens, Nardo's boss sees Manuelhe askses him to come over. While he is talking to his daughter about her birthday party. Because he didn't want to keep the subject on topic he invited Manuel, who he does,t know from a can of paint, to his daughter's party. She hesitates making excuses for him not to go but ends up giving up and Manuel ends up being invited.Nardo and their sister end up teasing Manuel about his crush on the bosses white daughter. When he goes to the party he stands out alot. When one of the bosses daughters friend askses him to dance he does. While he is dancing with this girl his leg accidentilly slips in between her legs and the girl freaks out and leaves. After this whole inciddent he tells Nardo and Nardo told him that even saying sorry to the girl wouldn't have made anything better. After all of this Manuel ends up home and talking to his friend Frankie and at Mondo, Frankie's friend's house. Mondo is in the Callaway Projects gang, that Manuel wants to be a part of for one of the reasons that to finish the whole anitiation they had to make out with Mondo's girlfriend Rita.

Reaction: This quote was one of the manuy excuses that Mr. Giddens daughter, Dorthy gave so that Manuel didn't have to go to her party, because she didn't know him any better than her father did.
